Planning A Fun Camping Trip

Before you begin packing for any camping weekend get-away with your family or friends, find out as much as you can about the types of conditions you will be living in. If staying in a public camp group, there may be public bathrooms, community rooms, and even general stores for you to purchase anything you may have forgotten.

Ask if those you are camping with if they have been there before and if they can recommend additional items. If you will be camping in the woods, chances are you will have to bring your own toliet paper and other supplies because there won't be any public bathrooms available. Knowing this in advance can help you pack more efficiently for your trip. Other items to bring with you include warm clothing for the evening, sleeping bag, pillows, and a first aid kit.

Clothing suitable for hiking, fishing, and walking should also be packed along with a good pair of hiking boots or shoes. In order to pack enough items for your trip, you should also find out what types of activities you will be participating in. Bring extra clothing in case you need to change.

Bug spray, allergy medication, and any other medications should also be packed and easily accessible when you need them. Because you may be camping in a remote area, the nearest ranger station or highway could be many miles away. Being prepared is important especially if you become lost or stranded for a few days.

These devices are inexpensive and are also used to plan hikes and plot waypoints that can help you find your way back to the campsite.
