Then wrap the foil around the apple and toss it on the coals to bake. Take it off the coals after ten minutes or it may burn. You can modify the recipe by filling the apple with some other kinds of stuffing. You can try using butter and caramels or even whipped cream.
You can also combine different kinds of fruits, cereals and nuts to make healthy campfire treats. Children love treats like banana boats, eggs on toast, baked peaches. To make banana boats, you will have to peel back a section of the skin from the banana. Take care that you do not remove it entirely. Then create slit down the exposed portion of the banana. Gently pull aside both sides of the slit and create a pouch which you can fill in with nuts, chocolate chips, peanut butter and marshmallows. You can vary the fillings as per your choice. Then pull the peel back over the banana. Wrap the banana in aluminum foil and let it roast on the coals. After about ten minutes, take the bananas off the coals. Remove the foil and dig in to the warm, sweet, nutty treat. You can bake peaches in the same way that you bake apples. Pit the peaches and cut it in two. Sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon over the peaches and wrap them in tin foil. Then toss them onto the coals and let them bake for a while. Allow them to cool and remove the foil. Enjoy the warm, caramel peaches. You can also make a fruit cup by mixing small bits of fruits like bananas, melons, grapes, apples, pears etc. Mix the fruit with some yogurt and serve fresh.
