Clothing Is Born
Then came a time when humans became migratory creatures and started to move towards the northern latitudes. This change came with a difference in temperatures and the need for warmer clothes became a reality. But as the ages went by clothes werenoonger treated as a protective garb. It came to represent something else like social status or as a uniform for ceremonies.
Through out the ages textile has been made from different sources such as cotton, wool, and hemp and so on. But no matter what it was made from the reason for using them was to make a comfortable and protective piece of clothing. Making of textiles has always been a difficult process. Even though that was the case, manufacturers tried to improve the quality.
There has been a lot of improvement over the ages in the quality of the fabric. It doesn't take an expert to see that we have long since departed from the use of such products as leaves and tree bark. Modern day clothing such as space suits is a proof of that. The main reason for such product was the introduction synthetic materials.
With the arrival of synthetic material, which is made from petroleum based products, there was no limit to the variations of what could be done. One such by-product is faux fur. Faux fur is made from synthetic fibers to feel and look like real fur. It became commercially available in the 1950's. Today faux fur is back in style and is widely used to make faux fur vests. -->
