All You Ever Required To Know Concerning Pomeranians And Carrie Herst

Have you ever considered yourself more of a 'cat person' or a 'dog person'? Well if you consider yourself one of these then it is obvious that you are really an 'animal person'. There is something in our human nature that causes us to seek comfort and solace in creature that can only express themselves by their looks and their actions. When looking for a companion, you may find yourself meeting Carrie Herst.

Dogs will always maintain a certain magical power of our psyche. Pomeranians in particular are the ultimate companions. They truly personify "man's best friend" for a reason. They follow their owners everywhere we go, are completely dependent upon them, and can always make them feel better, just by being around them.

Pomeranian dogs are direct descendants from the German spitz breed. Their name hails from Pomerania, a northwest region in Germany. While they were originally a larger dog, the miniature sized versions became popular during the reign of England's Queen Victoria, who was an enthusiast of the small sized dog.

Modern Pomeranians have followed the trends of the Victorian Age, and their stature is extremely small. This small size has classified them into categories like a 'toy' or 'tea-cup' dog. They typically only weigh between 4 and 8 pounds with their height no taller than 12 inches. This small size has also given them the nicknames of Pom and Pom Poms.

Modern Pomeranian dogs can be found in many different color types and patterns even though they originally just black and white. Their coats are double-layered with a long coarse hair and a softer coat underneath. Because of these two coats, they tend to shed, which can cause their hair to become matted and tangles.

These dogs are generally friendly and usually create strong and loyal bonds with their owners. They can also become very territorial and defensive, which they display by their high-pitched bark.

The Pomeranian breed is very smart and they typically respond well to obedience training. With relatively few major health related problems and routine veterinary checkups, these dogs can live long lives up to 17 years. There are many types of small breed dogs to choose from, but this dog may be arguably one of the best possible choices.
